South Carolina High School Basketball - Sumter overwhelms Burke
December 21, 2022: Charleston, SC 29403 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Sumter Fighting Gamecocks (Sumter, SC) and the host Burke Bulldogs (Charleston, SC), saw Sumter's basketball squad wallop Burke by a tally of 104-39.
With the victory, Sumter improves its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Fighting Gamecocks travel to Christ Church Episcopal (Greenville, SC) to confront the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 22. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 5-3. Christ Church Episcopal won 41-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Richland Northeast (Columbia, SC)
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the St. John's Islanders (John's Island, SC) in a A Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Burke will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Islanders come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 68-38 league loss to Baptist Hill (Hollywood, SC).
