Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) and the visiting Roanoke Catholic Celtics (Roanoke, VA), saw Alleghany's basketball squad wallop Roanoke Catholic by a tally of 60-29.

With the victory, Alleghany improves its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA) to confront the Bison in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 22. The Bison come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Buffalo Gap lost 86-67 in their recent non-league challenge against Fort Defiance (Fort Defiance, VA)
