New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), 47-28 in a non-league match.

With the victory, New Athens upgrades its record to 3-9 on the year. The Yellow Jackets travel to Marissa/Coulterville (Marissa, IL) to face the Meteors in a non-league match on Monday, January 6. The Meteors enter the match with a record of 7-3.

The Knights now sport a 1-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Maryville Christian for a Gateway Metro match on Tuesday, January 7.
