The Coronado Thunderbirds got by the visiting Americas Trail Blazers basketball squad by a final score of 50-48 in Friday's non-league outing.

Next, the Thunderbirds clash with the Eastwood Troopers (El Paso, TX) in a 6A Region I District 1 outing, on Friday, January 3. Coronado will attempt to upgrade on its 13-4 season record. The Troopers come into the outing with a 14-5 record after their 77-45 non-league loss to Carter (Dallas, TX).
