Arizona High School Basketball - La Joya Community nips Valley Vista

In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting La Joya Community Fighting Lobos basketball team scored a close 37-35 win over the Valley Vista Monsoon.

The Fighting Lobos (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Fairfax (Laveen, AZ). The Stampede come into the non-league contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, Fairfax edged Moon Valley (Phoenix, AZ), 54-52, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Monsoon battle the Williams Field Black Hawks (Gilbert, AZ) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Valley Vista will attempt to better on its 2-12 season record. The Black Hawks come into the contest with a 9-1 record after their 62-51 league win over Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ).
