The North Mesquite Stallions basketball squad (Mesquite, TX), was outscored 61-52 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Cypress Creek Cougars (Houston, TX)

With the victory, Cypress Creek advances its record to 10-12 on the year. The Cougars host Cy-Fair (Cypress, TX) to meet the Bobcats in a 6A Region III District 17 battle on Saturday, January 4. The Bobcats enter the battle with a record of 6-12. Cy-Fair lost 44-31 in their recent league battle against Stratford (Houston, TX)

The Stallions now own a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Adams for a 5A Region II District 14 battle on Friday, January 3. North Mesquite will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 36-33 league loss to Seagoville (Dallas, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 8-10.
