December 27, 2024: Monroe, NC 28110 The Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) basketball toppled the visiting Cheraw Braves (Cheraw, SC), 44-35 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Cardinals now possess a 5-0 record. They play next when they host North Stanly for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7. Union Academy will play a Comets team coming off a 47-38 non-league loss to College Prep & Leadership Academy (Jamestown, NC). The Comets record now stands at 2-4.
With the loss, Cheraw falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Albemarle (Albemarle, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 28. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Albemarle won 38-35 in their recent non-league bout against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)
