Texas High School Basketball - Argyle trounces Athens
December 28, 2022: Argyle, TX 76226 The Argyle Eagles (Argyle, TX) basketball crushed the visiting Athens Hornets (Athens, TX), 63-38 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Eagles (17-4) will now prepare for their test against Birdville (North Richland Hills, TX). The Hawks go into the 5A Region I District 7 test with a 8-8 record. In their last test, Birdville walloped North Crowley (Fort Worth, TX), 62-58, in a non-league test.
The Hornets now own a 13-7 record. They play next when they travel to Cumberland Academy for a 4A Region II District 16 test on Tuesday, January 3. Athens will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 56-23 non-league loss to All Saints Episcopal (Tyler, TX). The Knights record now stands at 3-5.
