George C. Marshall Statesmen (Falls Church, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), 54-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, George C. Marshall upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Statesmen travel to Washington-Liberty (Arlington, VA) to clash with the Generals in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 7-3.

Next up, the Screaming Eagle clash with the Heritage Huskies (Wake Forest, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 29. Ashley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 56-45 non-league loss to South Brunswick (Southport, NC).
