Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Shamokin Area nips Troy
December 28, 2022: Coal Township, PA 17866 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA) and the visiting Troy Trojans (Troy, PA), saw Shamokin Area's basketball squad hold off Troy by a count of 80-73.
With the victory, Shamokin Area upgrades its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Pottsville (Pottsville, PA) to play the Crimson Tide in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 30. The Crimson Tide come into the challenge with a record of 5-3. Pottsville lost 65-24 in their recent non-league challenge against Williamsport (Williamsport, PA)
Next up, the Trojans play the Canton Warriors (Canton, PA) in a Northern Tier challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Troy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 50-40 league win over Northeast Bradford (Rome, PA).
