In Thursday's non-league outing, the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) basketball squad nipped the host Cypress Bay Lightning (Weston, FL), by a margin of 57-53.

The Mavericks (8-2) will now prepare for their outing against Bluffton (Bluffton, SC). The Bobcats go into the non-league outing with a 5-4 record. In their last outing, Bluffton got by Summit Country Day (Cincinnati, OH), 48-42, in a non-league outing.
