Virginia High School Basketball - King William knocked off by Mechanicsville
December 28, 2023: Mechanicsville, VA 23111 The Mechanicsville Mustangs basketball team scored 75 points and held the visiting King William Cavaliers to 67 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Mustangs now sport a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to J.R. Tucker for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 3. Mechanicsville will meet a Tigers team coming off a 51-49 non-league loss to Prince George (Prince George, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-7.
The Cavaliers (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against West Point (West Point, VA). The Pointers enter the Tidewater contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, West Point was outscored by Mathews (Mathews, VA), 69-59, in a league contest.
