In Thursday's non-league outing, the The Woodlands Highlanders (The Woodlands, TX) basketball squad felled the host Ball Tornadoes (Galveston, TX), by a margin of 65-50.

The Highlanders (13-10) will now prepare for their outing against Caney Creek (Conroe, TX). The Panthers go into the 6A Region II District 13 outing with a 3-15 record. In their last outing, Caney Creek was beaten by Willis (Willis, TX), 55-46, in a league outing.

The Tornadoes now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they travel to Texas City for a 5A Region III District 18 outing on Friday, January 5. Ball will clash with a Stingarees squad coming off a 57-40 non-league loss to Alvin (Alvin, TX). The Stingarees record now stands at 3-11.
