The North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) basketball crushed the host Bessemer City Yellow Jackets (Bessemer City, NC), 80-48 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Black Hawks now possess a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to North Henderson for a non-league bout on Monday, December 30. North Buncombe will play a Knights team coming off a 61-56 non-league win over Berea (Greenville, SC). The Knights record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Bessemer City falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets travel to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC) to play the Warriors in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Friday, January 3. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 1-10. East Gaston lost 59-49 in their recent non-league bout against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC)
