In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Brashear Bulls basketball team scored a close 70-67 triumph over the Geibel Catholic Gators.

The Bulls (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Obama Academy of International Studies (Pittsburgh, PA). The Eagles go into the Pittsburgh City contest with a 0-5 record. In their last contest, Obama Academy of International Studies was tipped by South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA), 63-44, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Gators battle the St. Joseph Spartans (Natrona Heights, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 contest, on Friday, January 3. Geibel Catholic will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record.
