December 28, 2024: Tappahannock, VA 22560 In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Essex Trojans basketball team scored a big 59-27 triumph over the Surry County Cougars.
The Trojans (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Charles City (Charles City, VA). The Panthers go into the non-league contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Charles City smashed Windsor (Windsor, VA), 67-35, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cougars battle the Northampton Yellowjackets (Eastville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 28. Surry County will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 68-65 non-league loss to Menchville (Newport News, VA).
