North Carolina High School Basketball - Carrboro thwarts Triton

The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Carrboro Jaguars (Carrboro, NC) and the host Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC), observed Carrboro's basketball team knock off Triton by a score of 51-40.

The Jaguars (3-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Vance County (Henderson, NC). The Vipers come into the 2A/3A Northern Lakes challenge with a 8-0 record. In their last challenge, Vance County prevailed over Warren County (Warrenton, NC), 73-33, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hawks encounter the Western Harnett Eagles (Lillington, NC) in a 3A/4A All-American challenge, on Friday, January 3. Triton will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 53-38 non-league loss to Hoke County (Raeford, NC).
