In Saturday's non-league test, the North Gaston Wildcats (Dallas, NC) basketball squad knocked off the host Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC), by a score of 55-36.

Next, the Wildcats encounter the Stuart W. Cramer Storm (Belmont, NC) in a 3A Big South test, on Tuesday, January 7. North Gaston will attempt to improve on its 3-9 season record. The Storm come into the test with a 11-1 record after their 69-47 non-league win over Huss (Gastonia, NC).

The Ironmen (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Bulldogs come into the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont test with a 8-4 record. In their last test, Burns beat Hillcrest (Simpsonville, SC), 44-24, in a non-league test.
