Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) and the host Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC), saw Lee County's basketball squad wallop Douglas Byrd by a count of 68-36.

With the victory, Lee County upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets host Hoke County (Raeford, NC) to play the Bucks in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 30. The Bucks come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Hoke County won 62-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Union Pines (Cameron, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 22 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Douglas Byrd will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record.
