Raymondville Bearkats (Raymondville, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys (Falfurrias, TX), 51-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Raymondville upgrades its record to 11-10 on the season. The Bearkats host Port Isabel (Port Isabel, TX) to clash with the Tarpons in a 4A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Tarpons go into the bout with a record of 14-3. Port Isabel won 73-43 in their recent league bout against Zapata (Zapata, TX)

Next up, the Fightin' Jerseys clash with the Odem Owls (Odem, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. Falfurrias will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Owls go into the bout with a 9-10 record after their 49-44 non-league loss to Progreso (Progreso, TX).
