December 29, 2022: Belzoni, MS 39038 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Riverside Bulldogs (Avon, MS) and the host Humphreys County Cowboys (Belzoni, MS), saw Riverside's basketball squad overcome Humphreys County by a tally of 51-43.
With the victory, Riverside improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Leland (Leland, MS) to play the Cubs in a 2A Region 3 challenge on Wednesday, January 4. The Cubs come into the challenge with a record of 0-7. Leland lost 61-37 in their recent non-league challenge against Amanda Elzy (Greenwood, MS)
Next up, the Cowboys play the Simmons Blue Devils (Hollandale, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 30. Humphreys County will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 63-46 non-league win over Riverside (Avon, MS).
