The Clifton Cubs basketball team (Clifton, TX), dropped 37-21 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Hudson Hornets (Lufkin, TX)

The Hornets now possess a 16-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jacksonville for a 4A Region III District 18 battle on Friday, January 6. Hudson will confront a Fightin' Indians team coming off a 33-32 non-league win over Lancaster (Lancaster, TX). The Fightin' Indians record now stands at 19-5.

The Cubs (10-9) will now prepare for their battle against Whitney (Whitney, TX). The Wildcats come into the 3A Region III District 17 battle with a 8-12 record. In their last battle, Whitney dropped by West (West, TX), 51-34, in a league battle.
