The Nelson County Cardinals basketball team (Bardstown, KY), was toppled 52-44 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL)

The Midgets now possess a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Columbia for a Cahokia - Mississippi battle on Friday, January 5. Freeburg will confront a Eagles team coming off a 46-35 non-league win over Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 10-4.

The Cardinals (3-6) will now prepare for their battle against John Hardin (Elizabethtown, KY). The Bulldogs come into the non-league battle with a 1-12 record.
