Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the York Prep Patriots (Rock Hill, SC) and the visiting Buford Yellowjackets (Lancaster, SC), saw York Prep's basketball squad overcome Buford by a tally of 71-58.

With the victory, York Prep improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Andrew Jackson (Kershaw, SC) to confront the Volunteers in a AA Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Volunteers come into the challenge with a record of 9-3. Andrew Jackson lost 56-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Marlboro County (Bennettsville, SC)
