In Saturday's non-league outing, the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) basketball squad felled the visiting Cary Imps (Cary, NC), by a margin of 59-51.

The Vikings (8-4) will now prepare for their outing against Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Buccaneers go into the 3A/4A Mideastern outing with a 10-1 record. In their last outing, Laney thwarted Wakefield (Raleigh, NC), 60-58, in a non-league outing.

The Imps now own a 3-9 record. They play next when they travel to Green Level for a 4A Southeast Wake outing on Friday, January 5. Cary will clash with a Gators squad coming off a 56-52 non-league win over Coral Glades (Coral Springs, FL). The Gators record now stands at 11-0.
