Mississippi High School Basketball - Gentry nips Oak Grove
December 30, 2023: Hattiesburg, MS 39402 Gentry Rams (Indianola, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS), 47-40 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Gentry upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Cleveland Central (Cleveland, MS) to play the Wolves in a 5A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 15-3. Cleveland Central won 48-24 in their recent non-league bout against Edwards (Ruleville, MS)
Next up, the Warriors play the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) in a 7A Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 5. Oak Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record.
