Georgia High School Basketball - Stratford Academy can't hold off Heritage

Heritage Hawks (Newnan, GA) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Stratford Academy Eagles (Macon, GA), 54-48 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Heritage upgrades its record to 8-5 on the year. The Hawks host St. Mary's Academy (Fairburn, GA) to face the Bobcats in a GIAA AA Region 1 match on Tuesday, January 7. The Bobcats enter the match with a record of 2-7.

The Eagles now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westfield School for a non-league match on Friday, January 3. Stratford Academy will face a Hornets squad coming off a 73-53 non-league loss to Frederica Academy (St. Simons Island, GA). The Hornets record now stands at 5-5.
