Virginia High School Basketball - Shining Star Sports Academy overwhelms Cannon

December 9, 2023: Petersburg, VA 23803

Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Shining Star Sports Academy Panthers (Petersburg, VA) and the visiting Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC), saw Shining Star Sports Academy's basketball squad wallop Cannon by a count of 79-55.

With the victory, Shining Star Sports Academy upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Catholic (Virginia Beach, VA) to play the Crusaders in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 16. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 2-5. Catholic lost 56-52 in their recent non-league challenge against Shabach Christian Academy (Landover, MD)

Next up, the Cougars play the Grace Christian Crusaders (Sanford, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 15. Cannon will attempt to upgrade on its 8-1 season record. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a 9-0 record after their 56-48 non-league win over Elizabeth Seton (Bladensburg, MD).
