Illinois High School Basketball - Downers Grove North thwarts South Elgin
February 1, 2025: Downers Grove, IL 60515 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Downers Grove North Trojans (Downers Grove, IL) and the visiting South Elgin Storm (South Elgin, IL), observed Downers Grove North's basketball team knock off South Elgin by a score of 54-41.
The Trojans (18-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Proviso West (Hillside, IL). The Panthers come into the West Suburban - Silver challenge with a 6-10 record. In their last challenge, Proviso West prevailed over Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL), 77-61, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Storm encounter the Aurora East Tomcats (Aurora, IL) in a Upstate Eight - West challenge, on Wednesday, February 5. South Elgin will attempt to improve on its 8-17 season record. The Tomcats come into the challenge with a 7-18 record after their 74-30 non-league loss to Oswego East (Oswego, IL).
