The North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) basketball toppled the visiting Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), 97-86 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Black Hawks now possess a 14-9 record. They play next when they travel to Erwin for a 3A/4A Mountain bout on Thursday, February 13. North Buncombe will play a Warriors team coming off a 83-53 league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 10-13.

With the loss, Asheville falls to 4-19 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Enka (Enka, NC) to play the Jets in a 3A/4A Mountain bout on Thursday, February 13. The Jets go into the bout with a record of 6-16. Enka lost 90-78 in their recent league bout against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC)
