Game Story

North Carolina High School Basketball - Watauga holds off Freedom

February 12, 2025: Morganton, NC 28655

In Wednesday's league contest, the visiting Watauga Pioneers basketball team scored a close 58-53 triumph over the Freedom Patriots.

The Pioneers (16-5) will now prepare for their contest against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the 3A/4A Northwestern contest with a 9-13 record. In their last contest, Ashe County was tipped by South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 75-63, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Patriots confront the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern contest, on Friday, February 14. Freedom will attempt to better on its 12-10 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 14-9 record after their 49-48 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
