Maryland High School Basketball - Southern can't hold off Mountain Ridge

February 14, 2025: Frostburg, MD 21532

Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Southern Rams (Oakland, MD), 67-65 in a league match.

With the victory, Mountain Ridge upgrades its record to 9-9 on the year. The Miners host Hampshire (Romney, WV) to face the Trojans in a non-league match on Wednesday, February 19. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 9-7.

The Rams now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host GVCS Broadfording for a non-league match on Monday, February 17. Southern will face a Lions squad coming off a 43-37 non-league win over Morgantown Christian Academy (Morgantown, WV). The Lions record now stands at 16-7.
