Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) and the visiting Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC), saw Weddington's basketball squad wallop Marvin Ridge by a tally of 78-52.

With the victory, Weddington improves its record to 23-1 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC) to confront the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, February 21. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 9-15. Porter Ridge won 78-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC)
