In Friday's non-league contest, the Parkland Matadors (El Paso, TX) softball team overwhelmed the host Coronado Thunderbirds (El Paso, TX), by a margin of 12-5.

With the triumph, Parkland moves its record to 4-1 on the year. The Matadors travel to Eastwood (El Paso, TX) to play the Troopers in a non-league contest on Saturday, February 17. The Troopers come into the contest with a record of 4-1. Eastwood won 15-0 in their recent non-league contest against Riverside (El Paso, TX)
