The Sandy Valley Cardinals basketball squad (Magnolia, OH), was crushed 57-23 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH)

With the victory, Martins Ferry advances its record to 17-6 on the year. The Purple Riders travel to Union Local (Belmont, OH) to meet the Jets in a non-league battle on Saturday, February 22. The Jets enter the battle with a record of 19-5. Union Local won 56-20 in their recent non-league battle against Buckeye Local (Rayland, OH)

The Cardinals now own a 11-13 record.
