Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) and the visiting Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC), saw Shelby's basketball squad wallop Highland Tech by a tally of 78-48.

With the victory, Shelby improves its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Golden Lions host Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC) to confront the Yellow Jackets in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 4-17. Bessemer City lost 66-63 in their recent league challenge against Cherryville (Cherryville, NC)

Next up, the Rams confront the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont challenge, on Friday, February 9. Highland Tech will attempt to improve on its 7-14 season record.
