The Downey Vikings softball team scored 9 runs and held the host Sunny Hills Lancers to 7 in the Vikings non-league win on Thursday.

The Vikings now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host El Rancho for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 25. Downey will encounter a Dons team coming off a 11-2 non-league win over Don Lugo (Chino, CA). The Dons record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Sunny Hills moves to 1-1 on the season. The Lancers travel to Valencia (Placentia, CA) to encounter the Tigers in a non-league battle on Monday, February 24.
