Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), 63-56 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Alexander Central advances its record to 16-11 on the year. The Cougars travel to McDowell (Marion, NC) to face the Titans in a non-league match on Friday, February 28. The Titans enter the match with a record of 27-0. McDowell won 57-30 in their recent non-league match against Mount Tabor (Winston-Salem, NC)

The Pirates now own a 16-9 record.
