In Wednesday's non-league match, the host East Mecklenburg Eagles softball team scored a tight 9-3 win over the Palisades Pumas.

The Eagles (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans enter the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Sun Valley nipped Metrolina Christian Academy (Indian Trail, NC), 12-9, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Pumas battle the Berry Cardinals (Charlotte, NC) in a So Meck 4A match, on Tuesday, March 4. Palisades will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record.
