The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX) and the host West Oso Bears (Corpus Christi, TX), observed Mathis's softball team prevail over West Oso by a score of 11-1.

With the triumph, Mathis improves its record to 2-3 on the year. The Pirates host Skidmore-Tynan (Skidmore, TX) to face the Bobcats in a non-league contest on Friday, February 28. The Bobcats enter the contest with a record of 8-0. Skidmore-Tynan won 11-0 in their recent non-league contest against Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX)
