February 4, 2025: Cumberland, VA 23040 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) and the visiting Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA), observed Cumberland's basketball team overwhelm Prince Edward County by a score of 75-48.
The Dukes (11-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA). The Chargers come into the James River challenge with a 7-10 record. In their last challenge, Lunenburg Central was routed by Buckingham (Buckingham, VA), 56-52, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, February 5. Prince Edward County will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 81-38 non-league loss to Reidsville (Reidsville, NC).
