Utah High School Basketball - Lehi can't hold off Westlake
February 4, 2025: Saratoga Springs, UT 84045 Westlake Thunder (Saratoga Springs, UT) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT), 49-47 in a league match.
With the victory, Westlake upgrades its record to 14-6 on the year. The Thunder travel to Pleasant Grove (Pleasant Grove, UT) to face the Vikings in a 6A Region 3 match on Friday, February 7. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 8-12. Pleasant Grove won 41-40 in their recent league match against American Fork (American Fork, UT)
The Pioneers now sport a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Skyridge for a 6A Region 3 match on Friday, February 7. Lehi will face a Falcons squad coming off a 58-51 league loss to Lone Peak (Highland, UT). The Falcons record now stands at 11-9.

Game Summary: Lehi had the lead at the end of each of the first three quarters, but it was very close. The game was close though out and the game down to the wire. With the score tied and 5 seconds left in the game, the Westlake guard drove the ball the length of the floor and made a layup for the 2-point win. Cali Ashton led the Pioneers with 11 points and Ellie added 10.
