Virginia High School Basketball - Narrows nudges Auburn

February 5, 2025: Riner, VA 24149

The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA) and the host Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA), saw Narrows's basketball team nip Auburn by a tally of 56-54.

The Green Waves now possess a 11-7 record. They play next when they host Parry McCluer for a Pioneer bout on Friday, February 7. Narrows will play a Fighting Blues team coming off a 83-45 league win over Bath County (Hot Springs, VA). The Fighting Blues record now stands at 13-3.

With the loss, Auburn falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Eagles host George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to play the Maroons in a Mountain Empire bout on Friday, February 7. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 16-4. George Wythe won 72-40 in their recent league bout against Grayson County (Independence, VA)
