In Tuesday's non-league outing, the South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad felled the visiting Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC), by a margin of 60-52.

The Sabres (19-3) will now prepare for their outing against Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC). The Knights go into the 4A South Meck outing with a 15-6 record. In their last outing, Ardrey Kell was beaten by Myers Park (Charlotte, NC), 75-60, in a league outing.

The Mavericks now own a 14-8 record. They play next when they host Sun Valley for a 4A Southern Carolina outing on Friday, February 9. Marvin Ridge will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 66-63 non-league loss to Monroe (Monroe, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 7-15.
