The Sahuaro Cougars (Tucson, AZ) basketball were winner over the host Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks (Tucson, AZ), 44-36 in Thursday's league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 20-7 record. They play next when they host Salpointe Catholic for a 4A Kino bout on Friday, February 7. Sahuaro will play a Lancers team coming off a 69-39 non-league win over Tucson High Magnet School (Tucson, AZ). The Lancers record now stands at 22-4.

With the loss, Ironwood Ridge falls to 10-14 on the campaign. The Nighthawks host Mica Mountain (Tucson, AZ) to play the Thunderbolts in a 4A Kino bout on Friday, February 7. The Thunderbolts go into the bout with a record of 18-7. Mica Mountain won 47-33 in their recent league bout against Walden Grove (Sahuarita, AZ)
