SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC), 69-66 in a league challenge.

The Cougars (15-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Washington (Washington, NC). The Pam Pack come into the 2A Eastern Plains challenge with a 16-6 record. In their last challenge, Washington edged North Pitt (Bethel, NC), 90-65, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Chargers encounter the West Craven Eagles (Vanceboro, NC) in a 2A Eastern Plains challenge, on Monday, February 10. Ayden - Grifton will attempt to improve on its 9-13 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 5-12 record after their 60-52 league win over Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC).
