Virginia High School Basketball - Alleghany overwhelms Glenvar

February 7, 2025: Covington, VA 24426

The Alleghany Cougars basketball team scored 55 points and limited the visiting Glenvar Highlanders to 33 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now possess a 13-5 record. They play next when they travel to Floyd County for a non-league game on Tuesday, February 11. Alleghany will play a Buffaloes team coming off a 64-49 league win over Radford (Radford, VA). The Buffaloes record now stands at 6-13.

With the loss, Glenvar falls to 0-18 on the campaign. The Highlanders travel to James River (Buchanan, VA) to play the Knights in a Three Rivers game on Tuesday, February 11. The Knights go into the game with a record of 16-3. James River won 46-36 in their recent league game against Patrick County (Stuart, VA)
