Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 64-62 in a league match.

With the victory, Freedom upgrades its record to 12-9 on the year. The Patriots host Watauga (Boone, NC) to face the Pioneers in a 3A/4A Northwestern match on Tuesday, February 11. The Pioneers enter the match with a record of 15-5. Watauga won 57-45 in their recent league match against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)

The Huskies now sport a 9-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Caldwell for a 3A/4A Northwestern match on Tuesday, February 11. Ashe County will face a Spartans squad coming off a 51-42 league win over Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 15-7.
