Catoctin Cougars (Thurmont, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Middletown Knights (Middletown, MD), 48-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Catoctin upgrades its record to 17-2 on the season. The Cougars travel to Mountain Ridge (Frostburg, MD) to clash with the Miners in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 14. The Miners go into the bout with a record of 17-3.

Next up, the Knights clash with the South Carroll Cavaliers (Sykesville, MD) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 12. Middletown will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 49-44 league win over Francis Scott Key (Union Bridge, MD).
