The Veterans Memorial Chargers overwhelmed the visiting Rio Hondo Bobcats softball squad by a count of 16-1 in Tuesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Chargers meet the Hidalgo Pirates (Hidalgo, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, March 14. Veterans Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Pirates go into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 24-3 non-league loss to Hanna (Brownsville, TX).

The Bobcats (2-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Lyford (Lyford, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 3A Region IV District 32 challenge with a 5-7 record. In their last challenge, Lyford toppled San Benito (San Benito, TX), 12-9, in a non-league challenge.
